In addition to the new discipline-based knowledge generated through my projects, an equally important outcome has been the formation of a strong multidisciplinary team of researchers, practitioners, and policy makers with a shared interest in physical activity, child and adolescent health.&nbsp; Below are some areas where my and my undergraduate and graduate students current research efforts are focused on<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"ncst-fancy-paragraph-fifty is-text wp-block-ncst-fancy-paragraph\">\n      \n<div class=\"text-only wp-block-ncst-fp-accompaniment\">\n    \n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Youth development, sport, and physical activity and health (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/brucelee\/2018\/11\/10\/what-is-the-best-sport-for-you-try-this-healthy-sport-index\/#40a3921058a4\">Aspen Institute Project<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outdoor environments and their influence on children\u2019s health (see the results from our <a href=\"http:\/\/healthland.time.com\/2011\/09\/16\/back-off-mom-parents-who-hover-impede-kids-activity\/\">IPARK study<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health promotion strategies within sport and recreation environments (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/cals.ncsu.edu\/news\/extension-helps-partners-with-tailored-solutions-for-physical-activity-healthy-eating\/\">Health Matters project<\/a> or our <a href=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/news\/2024\/03\/exchange-program-promotes-positive-youth-development-through-sports\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/news\/2024\/03\/exchange-program-promotes-positive-youth-development-through-sports\/\">CDC HOP Project<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leadership development within sport development programs (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/news\/2024\/03\/exchange-program-promotes-positive-youth-development-through-sports\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/news\/2024\/03\/exchange-program-promotes-positive-youth-development-through-sports\/\">ENVEST Project<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The intersection of clinical community health (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/cnr.ncsu.edu\/news\/2018\/08\/thinking-outside-the-pillbox\/\">Park Rx project<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management and policies related to Community Recreation, Parks and Sport (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/activelivingresearch.org\/shared-use-school-facilities-systematic-observation-facility-use-and-physical-activity\">Shared Use projects<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The legacy and role of Mega Sporting Events in promoting healthy communities (See <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coventry.ac.uk\/research\/research-directories\/current-projects\/2014\/carnival\/\">Carnival<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eventrights.net\/\">EventRights<\/a> projects).
