Hello, my name is Kurt Smith. I am an Assistant Professor of Forestry and Extension Specialist in land retention at NC State University.

I’m excited to be part of the faculty at NC State and involved in the work that extension is doing here in North Carolina, the region and the world. When I’m not reading, writing, teaching or doing research, I enjoy exercise, working around the house, traveling, and I do a little fly fishing whenever I get a chance.
